What is it?

The accommodations card is a smaller card that suggests lodging for your out of town guests when they are in town for your wedding.

When should I send it out?

It should be included with your invitation, which we recommend sending out 8-12 weeks before the wedding.

What information should I include?

You should have several local hotel options, any room block codes, and the date your guests need to book by in order to ensure the group rate. This last one is very important - often your guests need to be booked up to a month before the wedding, so take that into account when you’re sending out your invitations.

Why should I care?

Because if you don’t, everyone will keep calling you and asking you about where they should stay, and you don’t have time for that! It’s just one more way to make sure your wedding is a good experience for all of your guests. If you have a smaller wedding, it’s not absolutely necessary to block rooms, but it is nice to recommend a few places that you know are nice, and close to your venue. It will also help your guests coordinate with each other, so if everyone wants to stay in the same place, they at least have a starting point. It’s one of those things that nobody will expect, but everyone will be glad you included.
