Case Study: Spring Bar Wrapper for Videri
While we usually stick to designing invitations, sometimes it’s fun to mix it up a little, and think outside the box, so to speak. When our friends at Videri came to us with a fresh spring flavor, and asked for help, we knew it was definitely one of those times.
In case you don’t know, Videri Chocolate Factory is a bean to bar factory located in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. They create some of the most delicious chocolate I have ever tasted, and the factory/coffee bar is such a warm, welcoming place that also happens to smell amazing. I met one of the owners, Starr, through a trapeze class we were both taking, and went on to work there as a bar wrapper for a bit. After I left Videri (to pursue One + Only Paper full time!), I have still been lucky enough to stay in touch with my sweet pals, and since their factory is open to the public, I often use it as a mobile office.
Starr and Roxanne wanted a custom bar wrapper that would stand out on the shelves, and let customers know that not only was this a custom flavor, but it was the perfect Mother’s Day gift. They had loved a photo of a watercolor painting I had posted on Instagram the previous week, so we used that as the jumping off point, and I pulled everything together, using colors from the painting to guide my palette, and making sure the back was just as special as the front.
Overall, it was a fun and fast project, that I think turned out great! It was so exciting to see our collaboration on the shelves - and see people reacting to it online. If you’re interested what lavender buds + ginger tastes like, you’re in luck! You can grab it in person at Videri Chocolate Factory in downtown Raleigh.
